Caroline GILES was born in 1861 in Winkfield, Berkshire.^1,2,5,4 She was the daughter of William GILES.^3,4 Caroline married George URIDGE, son of William John URIDGE and Caroline Janette POYNTER, on 24 September 1887 at Ascot Heath, Berkshire.^3,6 In the census of 5 April 1891 at Winkfield, Berkshire, she was listed as a Laundress, the daughter of William GILES.⁷ In the census of 31 March 1901 at Winkfield, Berkshire, she was listed as a laundress, the widowed daughter of William GILES. However, her husband died in South Africa in 1907. He has not been located in the 1901 census; a retired Carpenter, living with his daughter and grand-daughter.⁴ Caroline died a widow on 6 January 1944 at Winkfield, Berkshire.^2,1 The 1944 Will index shows: ""URIDGE Caroline of Chaveny Down Ascot Berks widow Died 6 January 1944 at London Road Winkfield Berkshire Probate Llandudno 2 March to Alice BRANT (wife of Charles Edward BRANT) Effects £ 145 2s 7d."²" Her estate was probated on 2 March 1944 at Llandudno, Caernarvonshire.²
