William George URIDGE was born in 1838 in Troy Town, St. Margarets, Rochester, Kent.1,2 He was the son of Charlotte URIDGE.2,3 As of July 1877, William George URIDGE lived at Pooncarie, New South Wales, Australia. In the New South Wales Police Gazette - 15 Aug 1877 Page 268, it was reported that
William died on 1 December 1882; No death registered in Australia, or England.5
His estate was probated to Charlotte URIDGE in 1885; Letters of Administration. Probate granted to Mrs Charlotte LANE in England, who was described as his mother. It is assumed that Charlotte URIDGE, took her mother's maiden name of LANE.5
"On the 16th July last, the remains of a man were found in the bush about 14 miles from Pooncarie by Mr. William Uridge, who reported the occurrence to the Pooncarie Police. No Magisterial enquiry was held. deceased is supposed to have been lost in the bush about sixteen months ago, and to have perished for want of water. description: About 50 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, brown hair; dressed in moleskin trousers, flannel shirt, and drawers, cotton shirt, lace-up boots, gray woollen socks, and white soft felt hat, a pocket-knife, match-box, and purse, were found on deceased. Two cans, one padlock, and one pannikin, were found near the deceased."4
William was a Blacksmith in 1882 at Goorimpa (middle of Australia), Wilcannia, New South Wales, Australia. William died on 1 December 1882; No death registered in Australia, or England.5

In a document dated c1905, he is referred to as "(dead) left Widow and children (infants) who all reside at 5a Raglan Street, Forest Hill, London, represented by R. Metchin Solicitor.12"
